Toddler: Ages 18 months to 2 ½. This class is perfect for children to explore their creative side through dance movement, music, and their imagination.
Tot 3yr Combo: Half hour of Ballet and a Half hour of tap. The tots will be introduced to the basics of tap and ballet in this hour long class. Please bring a dance bag with their change of shoes ready.
Tot 4yr old Combo: Half hour of Ballet and a Half Hour of Tap. The basics of tap and ballet in this hour long class. Some jazz movement may be introduced as well. Please bring a dance bag with their change of shoes ready.
Jazz: This class focuses on the basics of Jazz which include center control, spotting, turning, and leaping.
Jazz Funk: a Jazz music sub-genre that entertains a strong back beat and electric sounds. The jazz-funk class includes funk rhythm which is fun to dance to and influenced by a more electric sound.
Hip-Hop: this class allows dancers to engage in formal as well as informal freestyling while teaching a foundation of hip hop movement and structure.
Tap: Tap is a very unique art form that ties in many aspects of the music community to its trade. Tap Dancers are considered musicians and use their feet as their musical instrument. Shoes especially made to each dancer’s foot are equipped with two metal plates on the heel and the toe to create rhythms and gain a different appreciation for music!
Lyrical: Blending of ballet and jazz, lyrical is somewhere in the middle of the two with heavy reliance on emotional expression through dance with the e lyrics of the chosen song serving as inspiration for the movement and expression of the dancer.
Contemporary: Contemporary, similar to Lyrical and Jazz, is very versatile and can be danced to almost any style of music and paired with other forms of dance to create new types of movement.
For Beginning Ballet to Ballet 4: The main focus is on the lower body technique and training to have clean and perfect execution of this technique.
In Ballet 5 and 6: The main focus is on the upper body technique including por te bra(“carriage of the arms”) to create the real beauty of ballet at a more advanced level.
