Kayla Kalbfleisch had the opportunity at an early age to dance and work for Warner Brothers and Disney. She was selected in 1999 by Radio City Music Hall to perform ‘Clara’ on-pointe, and ‘Little Girl’ for the Christmas Spectacular Show. Kayla participated in numerous charity benefits for hospice care and cancer patients, traveling to Las Vegas and Dallas TX. Kayla was selected to compete on Star Search. She was an assistant with JUMP and West Coast Dance Explosion, traveling the country for two years. During this time, she was able to dance with tremendous talents, performing a duet with Nick Lazarrini (So You Think You Can Dance – Year 1 Winner). WCDE next sent Kayla, as part of the staff, to teach on their Australian Tour. While living in Las Vegas, Kayla danced and sang for a popular band called Sunset Strip. They performed nightly at Planet Hollywood and the Hilton, and were even selected to be a main act at Sylvester Stallone’s 60the birthday party. Kayla assisted Mandy Moore and was selected by Liz Imperio as a dance associate and assistant. Liz Imperio’s dance company, ‘Instincts Live Media’, performed at the Jazz World Congress in Chicago during the summer of 2008. Kayla danced as a member of this group. Recently, Kayla auditioned and was selected to perform in a pilot remake of a previous TV show. The choreographer was Dee Caspary. Kayla continues to choreograph and teach dance in the San Diego area. She completed her first non-profit Dance Intensive this past summer. Kayla is scheduled to graduate with a Biology Degree from UCSD this June. (Photo Credit, Natalia Del Carmen Photography)
