Leila Gardner Leila Gardner, a native of San Diego, California, began her training at the California Ballet School and later continued her training with the San Diego School of Ballet. While in San Diego, Leila studied extensively with Dame Sonia Arova and Thor Sutowski, as well as Max and Sylvia Tchernychev. In addition she has attended summer programs with the American Ballet Theater and the Alabama School of Fine Arts. Leila went on to attend the University of California, Irvine as a dance major and performed soloist roles in "Cinderella" as well as Balanchine's "Serenade." Leila has spent six seasons dancing professionally with the San Diego Ballet where she performed many soloist and principal roles in ballets such as “Sleeping Beauty,” “When we Have the Stars,” and “Mambomania.” Recently, Leila appeared in a Ford commercial. In addition to dancing, for the past 5 years, Leila has been teaching all forms of dance at various studios in San Diego County.
