Shannon Darcey has a history of experience in the dance industry. A San Diego native and currently living in LA, she has trained with a wide variety of instructors ranging from ballet to hip hop. Her experience has led her into a career in the entertainment industry, where she has appeared in film, television and the “LA” stage. Shannon has had the privilege of training with top choreographers such as Wade Robson, Mandy Moore, Mikey Minden, and Kevin Mayer. Along with stage and live appearances, Ms. Darcey has appeared in the film “The Hot Chick”, a WB showcase, MTV Ultrasound and the MTV pilot titled “The Remix”. Shannon worked under the direction of Francis Lawrence in the Michelle Branch video “Goodbye to you”. Shannon spent most of 2002 touring around the country and parts of Europe with the artist Michelle Branch, serving as her personal assistant. Her experience in all aspects of the industry has certainly helped to guide Danceology’s young talent. Shannon brings a very unique and mature style to her contemporary lyrical classes and choreography. She is consistently guiding dancers to explore dance outside of the mundane norm. Her choreography has received numerous awards and she is sought out by many local companies and high school troupes for her unique and creative work. |
