Shannon Parker has been involved in all facets of the dance community. Her performance credits including appearances with Drew Barrymore and Keanu Reeves in the motion picture Babes in Toyland and Kelsey Grammar in the opening credits for a local NY variety show. Later she moved on to complete her formal education in dance. She graduated with a B.S. in Dance Kinesiology, a minor in dance and concentration in Dance Education from Cal Poly, SLO. While attending school she was a member and president of Cal Poly’s Dance Company. Upon graduation, Shannon was hired on as a part-time faculty member for Cal Poly’s, School of Performing Arts where she served as a jazz and modern instructor. Away from the formal university setting, Shannon served as chairman for the Central Coast Dance Alliance, was an annual adjudicator for their Breaking Boundaries concert and during that time was a member of SLO City Jazz professional dance company. Shannon has spent years as an active member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science and has contributed to multiple dance injury studies. In San Diego, Shannon and her husband own a strength and conditioning business for athletes and work to promote sound dance conditioning. Shannon is a veteran dance educator having taught at multiple studios and high schools all up and down the California Coast. She is the current managerial director at Danceology and is the founder and director of Westview Dance Troupe in San Diego and creator of Move Me Entertainment Company.
